Selawik Lake

Selawik Lake is a large freshwater lake located in the Northwest Arctic Borough of Alaska, United States. It covers an area of 778 square miles (2,015 square km) and is one of the largest lakes in Alaska. The lake is approximately 70 miles (113 km) long and 20 miles (32 km) wide. The Selawik River, which flows into the lake, is an important source of water for the local wildlife as well as for the nearby villages of Selawik, Buckland, and Noorvik. The lake is also popular for fishing, hunting, and recreational boating. It is home to a variety of fish species, including Arctic char, northern pike, and whitefish. The lake and surrounding area are also important habitats for caribou, moose, wolves, and other wildlife.
